Experience & Technique
This project comprised of a group of three. We designed under the requirement which is using 80% natural materials and 20% support materials. The concept is “Flexible”, which follows the characteristics of bamboo.
The design started from 50 sketches and we chose the best one to develop and make a mock up model with real materials to learn the specific qualities of bamboo. After that, we made a prototype by using heat to bend flat bamboo and used two wood molds to control the shape of the chair. Finally, we made the real bamboo chair which used only nature material but with a strong structure.
